Commercial production in deepwater area
commenced in 2009. Major producing fields
with cumulative production in parenthesis are
namely KG-DWN-98/3 (5.7MMT, 115 BCM), KG-
DWN-98/2 (1.1 MMT, 2 BCM). The area has 3 fields
with 58 producing wells. The maximum flow
rates achieved by any field on record are Oil
20,875 BOPD and Gas 28 MMSCMD.
Basin datasets and studies:

As of 31.03.2025, NDR has archived primary
datasets of 167,140 LKM 2D seismic, 85,859 SKM
3D seismic and 1,450 conventional wells (1,023
exploratory). Multiple flavour of reprocessed
seismic datasets are also archived whenever the
same are provided by E&P Operators.

The basin has 59 gas hydrate wells that were
drilled under National Gas Hydrate Programme
(NGHP).

(100%). The active acreage nos. across regime(s) are 74 with area 37,764 sq. km (16% of basin area).

Onland: 1 DSF (Round IV) contract area with 301 sq km area [7 discoveries namely Vanadurru
South, Bantumilli South-1, Chintalapalli-1, Medapadu-1, Bantumilli-2, Thanelanka-1,
Yedurulanka-1]
Shallow water: 1 OALP (Round X) block with 2,968 sq km area; 2 DSF (Round IV) contract areas
with 1,125 sq km area [11 discoveries namely [G-1-NE-1(AA), G-1-N-2, G-1-NE-2(AB),
D-24(KGIII6-A1), GS-15-15, GS-15-22, GS-15-14] and [ A3-2, H-2, D-36, KGS092NASRI-1]]
Deepwater: 3 OALP (Round X) blocks with 32,057 sq km area; 2 DSF (Round IV) contract areas
with 922 sq km area [10 discoveries namely [D-04(KG-D6-F1), D-05(KG-D6-SH2),
D-06(KG-D6-D1), D- 07(KG-D6-K1), D-08(KG-D6-K2), D-42(KG-D6-L1), D-18(KG-
D6-H1), D-23(KG-D6-P-1A)] and [GD-10-1, GD-11-1]]
