            The basin occupies an area of 56,000 sq km. It has been appraised to the extent of 51,520 sq km

            2.3.5 ASSAM-ARAKAN FOLD BELT (AAFB) BASIN

            Assam-Arakan Fold Belt (AAFB) is a Category I basin with commercial discovered in-place.
            The basin overlaps with the state(s) of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram,
            Nagaland, Tripura.

                                                              The basin is characterized primarily by siliciclastic
                                                              deposits of fluvial to shelf margin setup, situated
                                                              in the northeast region of India.
